Burnaby school district is asking the public to help it reduce vandalism this Halloween.
Last year more than 800 incidents of vandalism to schools and grounds cost the Burnaby School District $400,000 in repairs, said the district. That’s money that could be better spent on students.
Most vandalism happens on weekends between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m. and at specific times of the year, such as Halloween.
People are asked to keep an eye out for groups loitering on school grounds. Call 911 if you witness vandalism in progress. Any suspicious activity can be reported to Burnaby RCMP’s non-emergency line at 604-294-7922.
