Who would have thought that a visit, three years ago, to the Finnish Manor by “Muffin,” a palomino pony, would become an annual event that residents of Burnaby's Finnish Manor eagerly await.
Muffin made her third visit to the manor last Saturday (Aug. 8), and was joined by residents and more than 100 family members and friends, as they came together for a special BBQ.
Muffin has been a resident at the Burnaby Equestrian Centre for 11 years, and is also the mascot for the equestrian centres’ annual open house.
Residents enjoyed stroking and grooming the pony during her visit.
Christel Dargel, who is confined to a wheelchair, was so inspired by Muffin that she was making attempts to get out of her wheelchair and take Muffin for a walk.
The residents at the manor were grateful to Janice Jackson, Muffin’s owner, for bringing her out for the day.
