The 200-room Delta Burnaby Hotel and Conference Centre, 4331 Dominion St., opened on April 21. Its amenities also include the EBO Restaurant and Lounge. Daniel J Ilias is the hotel’s general manager:
Q: What might surprise someone who is visiting/staying at your hotel?
A: Our lobby is unlike any other in the Lower Mainland. From the moment you step foot into our lobby, you’ll feel as though you’ve been whisked away to somewhere special. Over-height ceilings, ultra sleek designs, rich colors combined with an abundance of natural light through our floor to ceiling windows will surely invigorate the senses.
Q: What’s a good reason for someone who lives in the neighbourhood to stop by?
A: What makes the new Delta Burnaby Hotel and Conference Centre so special is the history behind the property that tells such an endearing story. We have visitors of all ages rave and reminisce about their special moments here—weddings from over 40 years ago, late night drinks with the girls, family reunions. We look forward to having our neighbours in to create new memories and make our mark in their lives.
Q: Do you offer some things that are luxurious or help people feel pampered?
A: I certainly feel that we do. Our 200 guest rooms and Signature Suites boast Delta sanctuary bedding, flat screen televisions, June Jacobs spa amenities and work stations. We are also proud to offer our private Signature Club Lounge on the 20th floor, where our guests can enjoy breakfast and evening canapés over a panoramic view of the city and mountains. Crowning the hotel on the 21st floor is the two-bedroom Grand View Suite, 1,000 square feet of ultimate luxury.
Q: What services/amenities does your hotel offer? Are there some that people who live here might enjoy?
A: Our services and amenities are designed to make every guest feel most comfortable. Local residents can “explore their own backyard” and enjoy delicious West Coast cuisine at EBO Restaurant & Lounge, riveting entertainment at the Grand Villa Casino and Scala Show Lounge and blissful relaxation in one of our new guestrooms and Signature Suites. Also, we are pet friendly so four-legged friends are welcome!
Q: Do you offer any rooms that have “wow” factor? Please describe them.
A: The Grand View Suite
Crowning the hotel on the 21st floor, this 1,000 square foot suite of pure luxury boasts paramount views. Features include added privacy of a separate living room from the two bedrooms, sofa bed in the living room, wet bar and mini-fridge, upgraded June Jacobs spa amenities, high-speed internet, local telephone calls, turndown service, fluffy bathrobes, iPod dock, 42-inch flat screen television, and access to the private Signature Club Lounge, which offers daily complimentary continental breakfast and evening canapés.
Q: Why would visitors to town stay here instead of Downtown Vancouver?
A: The City of Burnaby is such a jewel with its mountain parkland and freshwater lakes. Whether traveling for business or leisure, our guests are in close proximity to major business centres, renowned restaurants and BC’s largest shopping complex (for those in need of some retail therapy!). Delta Burnaby Hotel and Conference Centre is where you will find the luxury of a downtown hotel without all the city-centre hustle and bustle.
Q: Are you offering any specials that you’d like to share?
A: We are currently offering a very special $99 BC Residents Weekend Rate valid until July 31. $129 Weekdays. Come and visit us!
