Fuel change for Shell

Shell Canada is seeking approval from council for their plans to install a new ethanol storage and blending system.
The new system is proposed to be built at Burmount Terminal on Underhill Avenue, with construction starting this fall. Ethanol would be delivered to the station three times per day via double-tanker trucks.
Since provincial and federal governments will require all gasoline to have a five per cent renewable content by 2010, Shell could meet these mandates by providing ethanol-blended fuel.
The estimated cost of the system is $12 million with a projected completion date of September 2009.
