Little Red Church thanks the big-hearted Bowen community
Bowen Island United Church, a.k.a, The Little Red Church in the Apple Orchard, hosted yet another yummy and generous Fall Supper this past Sunday (Oct. 25) at the CNIB’s Bowen Lodge By The Sea.
Thank you to all of the folks who brought turkeys, pies, potatoes and veggies. Thanks to those who made gravy, cleared tables, set tables and cleared them again.
Thank you to all who donated a potpourri of items for the silent auction.
Thank you to Bowen Lodge By the Sea for the wonderful space and deluxe kitchen.
The biggest thank you however, goes out to you, the community of Bowen Island.
Year after year these Fall Supper tables are laid and the folks of The Little Red Church are honoured to host the community and to offer up the finest Spirit led hospitality available. The Little Red Church is very grateful for the constant support that flows from the community and in response to that support comes a true and real gratitude.

A Bowen Island Thanksgiving Day story
On Thanksgiving Day, (Oct. 12, 2009), Tony Beck and Richard Tremblay took time out from their golfing game to come to the rescue of my golden retriever who had managed to get down about 10 feet to a cliff ledge that he was unable to return from.
After frantically trying for an hour to find a way back up for my Jamie, I drove to the golf course to find help and am forever grateful that I found it for him!
Two very compassionate, strong fellows gave of their time, disregarding the precariousness of the predicament, and the further, possibly some 15-foot more of a drop, had my dog panicked.
Truly, an act of kindness that Jamie and I will always remember and appreciate.
Thank you both so very much.
