Court appearance adjourned for renowned Bowen Island carver

Bowen Island resident Simon Dick James, a renowned Kwakwaka’wakw master carver and dancer was scheduled to appear in the North Vancouver Provincial Court on Wednesday, June 18. The case was adjourned to July 2 with a note to comply with court instructions.
James was charged last month with sexual interference of a minor. He was granted bail by a telecom link by a judicial justice of the peace on the condition that he may not have any contact with the girl, her family, school nor other children without a parent present.
