This weekend, Saturday, July 11 and Sunday, July 12, the strawberries will cascade down the sides of delicious shortcakes and that can only mean one thing. The Bowen Island Annual Strawberry Tea is upon us. Along with delicious sandwiches and goodies, the tea is featuring a silent auction and some of the goods are quite fabulous.

An original painting from well known B.C. artist Sam Black is among the items up for bid, as well as a print from Governor General award-winning B.C. artist Eric Metcalfe and local Bowen Island wood carver Bob Miller.

Please come and enjoy the hospitality of Bowen Island’s Little Red Church in the Apple Orchard. The tea begins at 10 a.m Saturday and runs until 4 p.m. It opens again on Sunday at noon and finishes up at 4 p.m. Come out to bid on auction items, have a tasty treat, take something home from the baking table or connect with the Grandmothers to Grandmothers crew who will be selling strawberry jam and gently used items.

The most important reason to join in on the fun is to spend time with friends and neighbours and let the Spirit of hospitality flow from the Little Red Church to you.
