We are resurrecting the Dog Days of Summer, a family-oriented day in honour of man’s best friend and we need your help. All volunteers will receive the complimentary warm feelings that come from helping to facilitate a well-loved community event.
Dog Days is sponsored by Bowen’s Little Pet Shop at Artisan Square, Bowen Island Dog Ranch, and Doc Morgan’s Restaurant and hosted by the Union Steamship Marina in Snug Cove; all proceeds will be donated to British Columbia Guide Dog Services and Autism Support Dogs.
British Columbia Guide Dog Services is a registered charity dedicated and committed to the guide dog movement. Their aim is to improve availability and an increased level of service through the provision of professionally trained dogs to the visually impaired. Autism Support Dogs is a new sister organization aiming to provide professionally trained dogs for children with autism who are four to 10 years old.
The 16th Annual Dog Days of Summer takes place on Sunday, August 9 at the Union Steamship Marina in Snug Cove. Those interested in helping to organize this entertaining and rewarding event should contact Joldine Lee at Bowen’s Little Pet Shop at 604-947-0905 or email bowenspetshop@hotmail.com.
We need you to help celebrate man’s best friend at this tail-wagging day of contests, exhibits and refreshments.
