Veteran defenceman Mitch McColm will be wearing the captain’s C when the Bruins hit the ice for their home opener Friday night. The 20-year-old, acquired in an off-season trade with the Tri-City Americans, was named captain Wednesday morning by head coach and general manager Marc Habscheid. Another off-season acquisition, Shayne Neigum, will wear an A on his jersey, with 19-year-old defenceman Brandon Manning the other alternate. Josh Aspenlind captained the team in their first year of existence, and NicK Holden wore the C in year two, but there was no clear captain last year as the letter rotated between the likes of Jadon Potter, David Robinson, and Jesse Craige.
