The Major Midget Hockey League’s Fraser Valley Bruins took a pair of games from the Kootenay Ice last weekend.

Chilliwack Bruins prospect Steven Hodges had one of the goals in a 5-3 win on Saturday — Chilliwack native Dakota Schipper and Abbotsford natives Reid Frizzell (two) and Brendan Kroeker also scored for Fraser Valley.

Mackenzie Skapski was outstanding in net on Sunday as the Bruins took the rematch by a 3-2 score.

Fraser Valley led 1-0 through 20 minutes on a goal by Chilliwack’s Drew Graham.

Abbotsford’s David Rose added to the lead late in period two and Graham scored the game winner midway through the third period.

The Bruins are in Nanaimo this weekend.
