Highroad Academy graduate Allison Oddy served notice over the Sept. 3- 4 weekend that she will be one to watch in the NCAA’s Great Northwest Athletic Conference. Oddy plays for the University of Alaska-Fairbanks Nanooks.

A freshman at the University of Alaska-Fairbanks, Oddy earned the starting libero position for during training camp in August.

At the annual Nanooks Auto Service Classic, Oddy was named a tournament all-star, recording a team high 40 digs over three matches. The Nanooks took second place in their annual home tourney, losing a heartbreaking five set final to the University of Hawaii-Hilo Vulcans (20-25, 18-25, 25-23, 25-20, 9-15).

Earlier in the weekend, the Nanooks had earned four-set victories over the Rockhurst University Hawks (20-25, 25-16, 25-20, 25-18) from Kansas City, Missouri and the Urbana University Blue Knights (25-15, 21-25, 25-18, 25-14) from Urbana, Ohio.

Through seven matches in her very young university career, Oddy leads the Nanooks in digs with 81 (3.24 per set) and is second in serving with 11 aces (0.44 per set). She is no stranger to the spotlight, having capped an outstanding high school career at Highroad Academy with a third straight Fraser Valley championship and second provincial title.

She was MVP at provincials, an all-star at the Fraser Valley championships and finished her career as the all-time school leader in digs (1,120).

She was second in points (1,185) and serve receive average (2.13) while finishing third all-time in kills (979) and aces (146).
