The Chilliwack Huskers are in tough this weekend as they hit the road for a trip to Kelowna.
The Huskers (1-2) will face the Okanagan Sun tomorroww (2-1) in an early-season must-win matchup.
A victory vaults the Huskers back into the thick of the B.C. Football Conference playoff race.
A loss leaves them two games back, with six games to play.
Making matters worse, Chilliwack has never defeated the Sun in BCFC action. In their lone meeting last year, the Sun dispatched the Huskers 28-8 in Kelowna on Sept. 14.
Chilliwack hasn’t played since an embarrassing 59-14 loss to the Victoria Rebels in week three.
The Sun are coming off a 49-14 win over the Kamloops Broncos last weekend.
They present big problems for a Chilliwack team that has struggled to stop the pass.
The Sun are led by quarterback Derek Mann, who sits second in the league with 705 yards through the air.
Danny Turek is the big target at wideout with 15 catches for 295 yards and three touchdowns.
Along the ground, the Sun have Mike Fedyniak, who sits fourth in BCFC rushing yardage with 158 yards, averaging 8.3 yards per carry.
The Sun defence is the second stingiest in the league, with 51 points surrendered.
