Chilliwack Minor Football players ages 5-18 participated in the Canadian Football League’s annual Punt Pass and Kick competition on Tuesday.

Representatives from the B.C. Lions were on hand at Townsend Park to measure the total distance for each player’s punt, pass and kick.

Jamie Taras, former Lions offensive lineman and the team’s current director of community relations, complimented the Chilliwack turnout and facility.

“Its fantastic to have all these kids out (over 150 total), and what a great facility,” Taras said, talking about the new FieldTurf surface at Townsend Park.

The winning player from each division will compete for the provincial title at B.C. Place during a Lions home game against the Toronto Argonauts on Sept. 19.

The winners in each respective division will be announced next week.
