Please allow us to publicly thank the local fire department for their amazing work ethic. The Lynnwood Retirement Residence had a flood in the middle of our Goblin Parade. Our residence was full of seniors and kids dressed in costume with other family members enjoying a party . The party halted and 911 called, as a ceiling dripping with water quickly turned into collapsing ceiling tiles and waterfalls. Staff directed our crowd to safety and the fireman arrived prepared to save the day. They swooped in with large numbers. Residents were comforted and fed within view of the working crew and many have commented on the help they offered. Their willingness to do all that was needed and confident control of the situation helped all staff members to do what was required. The staff were assured by this experienced crew. A group hug and thank you to fire station No. 1, some members of the No. 6 hall, Captain Collins and crew, and Fire Chief Don VanBeest. The Lynnwood is in awe of our local guys and want them to know we noticed and are greatly appreciative!
