I’m going to presume this was a night-time incident, as the only school nearby, is a K-6 level school.
The real news here is the ongoing abdication of proper control over many city parks. Many are just not safe to travel through at night.
We are near the park in question and every weekend for about nine months of the year it is taken over by an unruly mob of youths – despite those city hall mandrakes and their bylaw passed last year to prohibit the gathering in parks after dusk.
I dread Halloween.
