U-Pass questioned

Re: U-Pass for UFV

I’d be curious to know how many students will take the bus within the Chilliwack area to the UFV Trades campus on Keith Wilson this fall. I took my car off the road last year and commuted from the downtown core. I found the service reliable but not very timely. The bus arrived after classes started, and when school was out at 2pm, the next bus was at 2:49pm. I was in luck as my class started at 8:15. The rest of the courses began at 8am, so there were only two students in the entire campus that took the bus from September to June. I voted against the U-Pass as it was an added expense that I would not benefit from. I was told that the money was for the student union, but now I see that is not the case. The city conducted a survey last fall and the schedule has not since changed. What is the money going to be spent on?
