Nothing funny about Bruno movie

I am shocked and in tears as I read reviews on a movie now playing in Chilliwack called “Bruno.” How is a movie like this allowed to be shown? How corrupt is our culture that we would accept this? It is filled with graphic sex, full frontal nudity, racism, and hate towards religious groups. When Bruno comes across a group of Jews and Muslims he says to them “Don’t kill each other, kill a Christian.” Homosexual acts are practiced in front of a child who is hanging from a cross. I have worked with, and love autistic children, whom this movie makes jokes about. Mexicans are used for furniture. There is conversation geared to make you laugh, where a mother is told her child will play a role in a movie, pushing a Jew into an oven.

As a Christian, I am appalled. I am equally appalled for the other people groups who are being slandered. Our culture is in love with “pushing the envelope” and for that, we promote the sinful lusts of people and suffer for it.

I encourage Christians in Chilliwack to wake up. We have not done enough to boldly proclaim the gospel in Chilliwack. Even if this movie and others, were removed from the theatre, sin will still reign in peoples hearts and lives. We need to show them Jesus Christ, who has the power to save.
