In support of Tracy Gray’s letter (Road worries, Progress July3), Tracy has been a long time and still is a advocate of her and other children’s safety on Evans Road. All which has become a deaf ear to the mayor and city planners. Now you have added two lanes and created a instant drag strip minus the starting gate. I have now watched the road from my house and can’t tell you how many times I have now seen two cars wind up by the tracks and speed down the road. Now I read they do not have funds to expand the parking lot at Evans because of a money freeze (Provincial finances put district renos in doubt, Progress, June 24).
You better extend ICBC hours because there are going to be accidents trying to get in and out of the parking lot. Never mind the illegal left turns and U-turns that are going to happen due to frustration of having to drive the long way around to return home south of the school. And now we are being told it was in the planning and the residents were aware. Nothing but political whitewash. Wake up council and protect the kids it’s the least you can do.
