RCMP: long weekend update

A lone ATVer, lost and injured, was rescued by Chilliwack Search and Rescue volunteers early Monday morning.
It was just one of the calls made to Chilliwack RCMP over a busy holiday weekend.
And early Tuesday morning police were called to a "serious collision" on Seabird Island Road that injured an 11-year-old boy.
Police said a truck driven by a 36-year-old Agassiz man came around a corner "at a high rate of speed and left the roadway striking a tree" at about 1 a.m.
RCMP Cpl. Lea-Anne Dunlop said the driver's 11-year-old son was taken to hospital with a broken leg.
"The investigation is ongoing at this time to determine the exact cause of the collision, however speed was a contributing factor," she said.
The injured ATVer called his family at about 4:15 p.m. Sunday to tell them that he had rolled his ATV and did not know where he was.
He was located at about 1:50 a.m. Monday between Mount Thurston Road and Bench Road by search and rescue.
Earlier on Sunday, police were alerted by an alarm that an ATM had been broken into at the Falls Golf and Country Club on Nixon Road.
Less than four hours after the 2:20 a.m. alarm, police arrested a suspect at his home in the 51200-block Yale Road. The unidentified suspect was held in custody until a scheduled court hearing Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Dunlop said RCMP in the Upper Fraser Valley were kept "very busy" from Friday to Monday enforcing regulations in town and recreational areas.
Six impaired drivers were arrested and nine 24-hour roadside suspensions were issued to drinking drivers.
