Greendale businesses are once again giving people, near and far, the opportunity to discover the greatness that is Greendale.

The fourth annual Greendale Country Sampler is being held on Saturday, Aug. 24.

"This is a fun, local event, filled with community spirit and country living," said Holly McKeen, owner of Greendale Pottery and Country Guest House.

Twelve home-grown Greendale businesses are opening up their shops, providing tours, demonstrations, and activities for sampler participants. Businesses include Chilliwack's Original Corn Maze, Greendale Herb & Vine, Ed's Quality Wooden Crafts, 5 Acres Ranch, Greendale Pottery and Country Guest House, Rustic Soap Co., Hooge's Hazelnuts, Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve, White Dove Stables, Chilliwack River Valley Natural Honey Ltd., Happy Day's Dairies and Anita's Organic Grain and Flour Mill.

This year's lineup includes old favourites, like Rustic Soap Co. and some new stops too including Hooge's Hazelnuts.

"We are excited to have added a funky garden tour and a new artisan stop this year," said McKeen.

More than 400 people participated in last year's Sampler, organizers are hoping for even more this year.

Participants can pick up their Sampler passport at any location on the tour. Get the passport stamped at each location and be entered into a draw to win a grand prize gift basket filled with local product. Door prizes will also be available at individual locations.
