Chilliwack Chamber of Commerce President Michael Berger is stepping down due to commitments to his full time employment, the chamber announced this week.
First vice-president Jason Lum of the Myriad Group of Companies will assume the role of president effective immediately.
Berger has served as president since February of this year. Members of the board and the staff at the chamber office wished Berger the best and thanked him for his commitment to the chamber.
The board of directors and staff of the chamber also congratulated Lum on his new position and said they were looking forward to working under his leadership.
News of Berger’s resignation comes on the heels of the resignation of chamber CEO Sue Attrill.
Attrill said last week she was quitting to pursue an opportunity with Coast Hotels in Chilliwack.
The Chilliwack Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit organization comprised of business, professionals, residents and other community groups working together to ensure a healthy economic and social-economic base to benefit the entire community.
