McMillan competes at sectionals

Haley McMillan has been working hard, and will be competing for sectionals (B.C.-Yukon) on Nov. 11-16 in Richmond.
McMillan is a committed and dedicated figure skater who is prepared for the competition in the pre-novice level.
There will be 64 skaters in her group. She will compete in two programs, a short and long one.
At sectionals, McMillan hopes to skate clean programs and have fun.
The season has started for the Mission Figure Skating Club, and skaters have already participated in two competitions.
Jessica McHugh earned a silver medal in the Autumn Leaves competition in Kamloops Oct. 17-18 and Holly Friesen took home a bronze.
McHugh skated in the pre prelim ladies nine under category, and Friesen was in the elementary ladies nine under category. Jordan Smith, who competed in the same division finished seventh.
McMillan also made the trip and finished 10th in the prenovice ladies short program and the long program.
A number of skaters also picked up medals at the B.C. Coast Regional Championships in Chilliwack on Oct. 24-25.
Medalists include Carly Phenix with gold in the elementary ladies 10 over; Elina Gress, gold in the junior bronze ladies 13 over; and Ian Nygard, bronze in the elementary men.
Other Mission skaters in the competition and their results are: Smith (ninth in elementary ladies nine under), Friesen (seventh in elementary ladies nine under), Madison Sande (nineth in elementary ladies nine under), Anna Whitlock (fifth in pre prelim ladies 10 under), McHugh (seventh in pre prelim ladies 10 under), and McMillan (12th in the pre novice ladies short program and 16th in the pre novice ladies long program).
