Alarms win in Summerland
Mission Alarms won top spot in a tournament in Summerland this past weekend.
The Mission Alarms Pee Wee softball team captured the silver medal in a tournament in Summerland over the Mother’s Day weekend.
The girls started off strong and defeated Penticton and Westside. However, the Mission team was defeated by Kelowna in the third game.
The team came out refreshed and determined on Sunday. The Alarms were victorious against Fleetwood and moved on to the playoff round.
The girls won back-to-back games over Penticton and Vernon, and earned a spot in the finals against Prince George.
It was a hard-fought game, but the Alarms were on the short end of a 6-3 score.
Receiving MVP medals in the tournament were Madeline Allen, Haley Borchert, Ashley Rowen and Madison Rolfe.
The girls really came together as a team, said the team’s coaching staff, which also complimented Summerland for putting on such a successful tournament.
