Local MLAs should be defending hospital services

With the announced potential reductions to the emergency room services at Mission hospital, it makes one wonder where our local MLAs are on this.
Shouldn’t they be out front defending our local infrastructure?
If push comes to shove and it is decided to close the ER for a portion of the day, I am left wondering why they would choose the overnight period, when no other local services are available, such as medical offices or walk-in clinics.
I accept at face value that the overnight period is that in which the statistics show least usage, but frankly, I prefer that there be some local medical services available at all times.
And I cannot help adding that the cost of those Campbell-government-purchased Olympic tickets would certainly more than cover the funds apparently needed to keep the ER functioning.
And don’t get me started on the half-billion dollar retractable roof, or the executives running BC Rail, which has no trains.
