Editor, The Record:

On the night of July 14, thieves stole the beautiful hanging baskets that were hung outside the Visitor Centre. The two baskets were worth over $200. The baskets helped to create the inviting atmosphere of the Visitor Centre, and last month the Mission Visitor Centre was one of the busiest in the province. Our visitors regularly commented on the beautiful baskets.

With the Communities in Bloom provincial judging this week, it saddens us to have to explain our plants being stolen. Is this the reflection we want others to take away from our community? It is always distressing when the actions of a few encroach on the values of the community.

If you have any information regarding the baskets or would like to return them, no questions asked, please contact us.
