A growing community needs an ER

I've lived in Mission since 1976; my kids were treated at Mission hospital and so was I. Our population was around 18,000.
Mission has grown since 1976 and is still growing. We NEED our hospital for our community. My husband is still here with me because of the ER, as he was treated here. Time is the essence in most cases. Does Health Minister Kevin Falcon understand this? Does he care?
Mr. Falcon, do you live here in Mission? How can you tell the community where to go and how long it will take to get to the other hospital? Are you going to pay for speeding tickets? You say Abbotsford hospital is 20 minutes away — maybe on a good day. Ridge Meadows hospital is not 20 minutes away. One would have to have a lead foot and no traffic or police. As for Langley Memorial Hospital, I don't even know where it is. I live in Mission and we need our hospital here.
Mr. Falcon, are you telling Mission residents that we have to do trial runs to all these hospitals to see where they are located and how fast we can get there? What happens in winter with all the snow when the highways are closed or filled with uncleared snow?
Do you have an answer?
