A 40-year-old Abbotsford man is recovering in hospital after he was stabbed on First Avenue last Friday.

According to Mission Mounties, there was a fight outside the Big B Saloon at approximately 1 a.m., and the victim was stabbed multiple times in the chest.

Witnesses at the scene reported the victims was involved in an altercation with two other unknown males. Police say the incident was not the result of a brawl inside the bar, despite media reports.

“At no time were these suspects patrons of the Big B Saloon,” said bar owner Brad Fletcher.

The victim is being relatively uncooperative, say Mounties.

The suspects were seen leaving in a red, older model Chevy pickup truck.
