Nobody was injured in a three-vehicle accident on the Mission Bridge Thursday afternoon.

Police were called to the scene at 4:53 p.m., said Sgt. Greg Pridday.

All three vehicles were travelling southbound when the accident happened near the crest of the bridge. According to statements from the drivers, it appears the first vehicle had stopped on the bridge because of some debris and a passenger attempted to get out to remove it. As a result, the vehicle was rear ended by another vehicle and a third vehicle collided with the second vehicle from behind.

There were high winds at that time and nobody was charged, noted Pridday.

All three vehicles involved were Honda Civics, a 1992 red one, a 2001 blue one and a 2007 grey one. The drivers were from Surrey and Mission.

Tow trucks removed the vehicles, which had extensive damages, and the accident backed up traffic for hours.
