Mission’s tree farm is being audited by the Forest Practices Board (FPB) Sept. 28 to Oct. 2.

The board will audit Tree Farm Licence (TFL) 26’s forest practices, including planning, harvesting, roads, silviculture and fire protection activities to ensure compliance with legislation.

Located in the northern part of Mission on both sides of the lower arm of Stave Lake, TFL 26 is approximately 10,000 hectares, and is one of only two TFLs held directly by a municipality.

When the audit is completed, a report will be prepared, and any part adversely affected by the findings will have a chance to respond.

FPB staff said this is a random audit.
