Uncontained Pitt Lake fire one hectare in size

A one hectare fire has emerged in nearly the same location as one a few weeks previous.
According to Coastal Fire Centre's Mike McCulley, the blaze is located at the top of Pitt Lake and is not currently contained.
"It's a very steep area, and there's not a very high fuel load," he explained. The terrain is too steep to put people on the ground, and so a helicopter is bucketing the fire.
McCulley said the fire was caused from lightning strikes July 6, and it remained smoldering since then, and just now became visible.
