For the second time in four months, a car has crashed into the house at the southwest corner of Hurd Street and Sandpiper Avenue.

The occupants of the home declined an interview with The Record, but they noted speed is a concern in the area.

The most recent crash happened July 12 around 4:40 a.m. Police were called when a brown 1996 Mazda MPV left the road and came to a stop after going through the garage of the home.

According to witnesses, the vehicle was speeding, said Mission RCMP Sgt. Greg Pridday.

A man with dark hair, wearing no shirt and dark-coloured pants was seen running from the scene.

The vehicle had been reported stolen from McRae Avenue, said Pridday, adding police continue to investigate the incident.

Anyone with information about this crash is asked to call Mission RCMP.

Nobody inside the home was injured, but its occupants were surprised it happened again.

On March 17 two vehicles ended up on the front yard of the property, but one had gone a little further and collided into the east side of the house.

According to a police report, the two vehicles were travelling southbound on Hurd Street when one of the vehicles attempted to make a left turn, and the second vehicle, not stopping in time, ran into the car in front, hitting a fire hydrant, and then the home.

Nobody was injured in the collision.

A 22-year-old Mission man was charged with impaired driving as a result.
