When Mission Mounties executed a search warrant to take down a methamphetamine lab in Deroche Monday morning, they also found a marijuana grow operation as well as two stolen vehicles.

The property in the 41300 block of the Lougheed Highway had to be evacuated as the clandestine lab team safely dismantled the meth lab.

“Meth labs are extremely toxic, and can be fatal should someone inhale wrong vapours coming out of it,” said Mission RCMP Sgt. Greg Pridday.

At the residence, there was evidence meth had been produced there and there were numerous precursors and chemicals indicating more could be made, according to police.

Inside the house officers also found about 150 mature marijuana plants in the budding stages.

Another search warrant was needed when police located two stolen vehicles on the property.

A 34-year-old man who was living in the home, was arrested and will likely be facing charges related to the marijuana grow op, meth lab and possession of stolen property.

Police rely on tips from the public to help fight the production of illegal substances.

Anyone with information regarding marijuana grow operations, meth labs or any other crime, is asked to contact the Mission RCMP at 604-826-7161.

If you would like to remain anonymous, you can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 any time.
