Lifetime Learning open house Wednesday

Lifetime Learning Society will be holding an open house and course registration Sept. 23 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at its new centre located at Fraserview Elementary School (32444 Seventh Ave.).
The public is welcome to attend the event to hear speakers, enjoy refreshments and find out about the variety of programs offered, from general interest to arts and humanities, elder college, and health and wellness.
This semester the keynote speaker will be Dr. Tim Cooper, physics professor at UFV, who will give a presentation on global warming.
Highlights for this semester include a health care series, monthly Philosophers’ Cafe meetings, book group meetings, field trips to the SPARC radio museum, Reiffel Island, and the Silverdale Tour and Apple Harvest and a presentation called Silverdale Remembrances, an oral history series on community history.
The Lifetime Learning Centre Society is a non-profit organization that promotes active living and healthy aging for older adults through community and general interest adult education and wellness programs.
