Volunteers from Mission Friendship Centre, Youth Unlimited and the Crosscurrent Church are leaving this weekend for Skatin reserve to carry out a number of improvements benefitting the community.

The group will be building a children's playground, do critical repairs to the community hall, and if time permits, complete various jobs throughout the community.

Skatin is located along the Lillooet River, about 25 kilometres above the northern end of Harrison Lake, said Youth Unlimited's Barry McLeod. For years McLeod has been leading volunteers on missions trips to far away locales, and recently decided to look closer to home for a worthy project.

If you are able to financially help or provide supplies, please contact McLeod at 604-820-8246, or send an e-mail to missionyfc@telus.net.
