Proud moment
It was an exhilarating and pride-filled moment when Bruce McBride of Hope, got a chance to be a part of Olympic history. McBride carried the Olympic torch through the streets of Nanaimo early Sunday morning, November 1. He was chosen to carry the torch by his employer and torch run sponsor Saputo Foods. Two other local torch bearers, Kate Zabell and Barry Stewart, will carry the torch through the Merritt to Chilliwack leg of the journey on January 7, after the torch returns to B.C. from its cross-country tour.
