Champs drop in for practice

Hope Memorial Park welcomed a championship football team for an afternoon practice, Saturday. The Vancouver Island Raiders spent the afternoon polishing up their throwing arms for a game in Kelowna against the Okanagan Suns on Sunday. The practice paid off with the Raiders trouncing the Suns 43 - 3. With his team unbeaten in the standings, a proud team owner Hadi Abassi says the annual tour to Kelowna is a treat for all the team players who love coming to practice each fall in Hope. On Sunday, Oct. 18 the Raiders tackle the Chilliwack Huskers. Game time is 2 p.m. Games can be viewed live on their website at viraiders.ca
