The Hope Brigade Days Sheepdog Trial was once again a great success for the handlers of some top notch dogs.

‘Cap’ handled by Dirk Vansant of Sedro Wolley was this year’s top team. Diana Gauthier, of Lumby, with last year’s top dog ‘Teag’ were in second place. Third place went to Brian Nelson and ‘Pleat’ from Fort Langley.

Run for the Money results:

Dirk Vanzant and Cap, 56 points in a time of 5:50.

Diana Gauthier and Teag, 56 points in a time of 6:12.

Brian Nelson and Pleat 56 points in a time of 7:09.

Lorne Landry and Cassie 56 points in a time of 7:18.

Wendy Legare and Towie 56 points in a time of 7:45.

Lynn Leach and Chaser 56 points in a time of 8:33.

John Carter and Dew 56 points in a time of 9:15.

Lani Dorman and Blair 48 points in a time of 9:34.

Bruce Mcleod and Patch 48 points in a time of 11:18.

Char Hendersen and Reo 48 points in a time of 11:54.

Marg Masi and Kane, 26 points in a time of 12:00.

Rose Mcleod and Jana, 20 points in a time of 12:00.

Local area participants in this year’s dog trials were Lynn Leach from Downriver Farm, Laidlaw, also the supplier of the sheep, and John Carter of Benthiil Working Dogs.
