Stopping at the new Timmy's in Hope for a coffee may not have been the smartest thing for the driver of a stolen pick-up truck to do.
Police were on the lookout for the pick-up truck heading to into Hope's downtown core from Silver Creek when they spotted a truck matching the description at the new Tim Horton's on Old Hope-Princeton Way.
At 10:45 p.m. Wednesday, November 4, police exercised a high-risk take down of the driver who was taken into custody without incident, reports Corporal Lea-Anne Dunlop, communications officer for the RCMP.
The newer model GMC Sierra pickup truck had been stolen out of Langley on October 23, reports Dunlop.
The male suspect, age 31, of Delta, is facing charges of possession of stolen property, possession of break-In instruments, and driving while prohibited.
"Also located (by police) were numerous credit cards, and gift cards, that may be associated to fraudulent activity and the investigation is ongoing at this time," adds Dunlop.
