Hope police are once again warning the public about another suspicious incident involving the driver of a white van and two young females

At approximately 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 15, two young females were reportedly followed for several blocks from the downtown core of Hope to Park Street where they were headed to school.

This is the third incident in the past month involving a suspicious white van that has been reported to the Hope RCMP. The first incident occurred on Richmond Hill, the second near the Hope Recreation Centre. A fourth report back in April occurred on Coquihalla Street and Sixth Avenue.

"The driver of the van did not speak to the females but was driving slow, to pace them while they walked, which caused them to feel unsafe," reports Corporal Lea-Anne Dunlop, media relation’s officer for the Hope police.

Two females described the van as a white Chevrolet Astro Van. The driver was described as a dark skinned, possible native male, approximately 40 years old, with short brown hair and a mustache.

"The females reported seeing the same van, and same male driver, two days prior wearing glasses and a baseball hat in the downtown area," adds Dunlop.

Hope RCMP continue to seek information from the public to help identify the van Police are reminding parents to speak to their children about the dangers of talking to strangers, or taking a ride from an unknown person and to always walk in pairs.
