Hope RCMP took down what they characterized as a “sophisticated marijuana grow operation” on Sunday.

While conducting an unrelated investigation in the 22000 block of Ross Road in the early hours of July 5, RCMP discovered the operation.

A total of 378 marijuana plants were located after a search warrant was obtained and executed on Sunday afternoon.

The residence was set up to house over double the amount of plants that were seized. The residence contained dangerous electrical wiring and was an extreme fire hazard, police said.

The tenant was arrested and police are recommending charges against him.
