Sunshine and thunderstorms are great for the gardens, lawns and trees. All kinds of flowers to pick or just look at.
And berry season, we can have pies, muffins, pancakes or just plain. The other day we had blueberries with whipped cream. We also made a couple of raspberry pies, enjoyed! Wonderful summer, great for the belly.
Another fun time we have had is going on picnics. It is so nice just to sit out in the shade, taking in the warm sunshine. The staff have been taking part with the residents, making and baking goodies for all to enjoy. I would like to put in a plug for the courtyard project, especially to Diane and Vic Fields, they have been working extra hard to get the job finished. Onward to life at the lodge. We are doing our regular monthly scheduled programs, for all of you that have our calendar. We went out on a shopping trip and now we have a nice piece of furniture in our activity room. We used our Life Enrichment Fund for the purchase. One outing we went bowling at our local bowling alley with Tillicum. A few residents went to McDonalds for lunch. The children from the Recreation Centre Summer Program were here to do arts and crafts with us. We painted rock bugs. Now we own our own waffle iron so we had a lovely waffle birthday breakfast for our July celebrants. Another thing, some of our residents have been going to the local pool for some therapy and fun. We had a nice pool party with refreshments, in our back yard (kiddy pool). Thanks to the Eagles Ladies Auxiliary for hosting the monthly birthday party with our own Hank and the Boys.
Quip: It is not how long you live that counts, but how you have lived.
