Wow! To the communities of Hope, Agassiz, Chilliwack and surrounding areas – You ROCK!

In October, we shone 233 purple lights in our communities to support the stand against domestic violence in our towns ! It was our first year and the results were wonderful! I will have a final tally in a future article on the amount raised to be used to take a stand against domestic violence through education and raising awareness of this issue that affects everyone of us. As it takes a village to raise a child, it also takes a village to protect children and their moms.

The support is felt daily by all of us who work in this field. Not only through the dedicated workers in Victim Services, Transition Societies, RCMP and many other services in these communities, but also through those that support all our organizations through donations. Some donate time, some donate discounts and some donate goods. To mention a few Spectra Energy, Chilliwack Quilters Guild, the Hope Standard, Hope quilters, the fellows at Mountain Institute, the Hope Liquor Store and the many other corporations and private citizens in these communities. I know I can not possibly name you all but please accept our appreciation! Well done and take a bow!

Stay tuned for an update on the figures and next year, get ready to excel once more!
