Great crafts, great deals, great cause

The best deal in town is the annual Beta Sigma Phi Craft Sale, coming Saturday, November 14, from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. in the Legion Hall.

Like a yard sale, there is no entrance fee. But unlike a yard sale, everything is new – but priced for the thrifty.

There are over 40 tables full of handmade stocking stuffers — and maybe even the stockings, themselves.

“There’s coffee and there are snacks, door prizes and the chance to meet your neighbours who are also on the lookout for interesting crafts that they maybe can’t make themselves,” says co-organizer Linda McMullan.

“The Beta Sigma Phi Sorority has organized this craft sale since the eighties, and, as usual, all of the money you drop in the jar as you come in, plus all the funds raised by selling the tables, will go to make others’ Holly Days Christmas that much more festive,” adds McMullan.

“‘Tis the season to be saving, and nowhere in the lower mainland can you find handmade crafts at the prices these presenters manage.”

Holly Days is an annual fundraising drive for the Hope Community Services food bank. The HCS Christmas hamper program gives those in need a helping hand over the holiday season.
