Offensive explosion for Fastball team
Published: July 15, 2008 7:00 PMThe Agassiz Men's Fastball Club appears to have righted their ship just at the right time! Heading into the second season, Agassiz is riding a 3 game winning streak after ending the regular season with a 10 to 3 victory over Terry's Paints of Lynden.
Agassiz fell behind early as pitcher Fabian Goodwill worked out some bugs in his first game back from vacation. Behind 3 to 0, Agassiz blasted 5 runs in the 3rd inning and 5 more in the 4th to cruise to the win. Goodwill recorded the win allowing just 3 hits with 2 strikeouts and closer Vaughn Mindel pitched the final inning, striking out all 3 of the batters he faced.
This game was an offensive explosion by Agassiz standards as they registered 12 hits off of 2 Lynden pitchers. Daryl Dix led the hit parade going 3 for 3 with a homerun and 2 RBI's, Chuck Pettis and Rob Woodrow, both 2 for 2 with 2 RBI's, Doug Lennie 1 for 1 and Goodwill chipped in, with 2 for 3 and an RBI.
Playoffs are next and as of this publication date, the format has not been decided, tune in next week for the results.
