My name is Alice Smith and I have been the manager at Movie Gallery for approximately three and half years. As a lot of you know, Movie Gallery closed its doors on Tuesday, October 6, 2009.
This came as very short notice to all our staff, as well, as the many customers out there. Tammy, Skylar, Mary, Diane and myself would like to say we are very sorry that we could not inform or contact any of you of the quick closure, and to let all our valued customers know that it was a great pleasure serving you and supporting us for the time you did.
It was a very sad day for us the staff of Movie Gallery to say our good-bye's, not only to the company but to the great customers we were lucky enough to have.
If any of our customers recently purchased the power play you can go down to the store where their is a 1-800 number, or go onto Movie Gallery website, for any type of refund.
Movie Gallery has had many financial struggles along the way, as we are all aware living in a small town, it doesn't take much for word to get around.
There was some light in the tunnel, but the light slowly disappeared, and from a business perspective, the company did not have much of a choice. The way they informed us, as well as the customers, may not be the right way, but I don't believe that their could have been a right way or wrong way in this situation. All of us at Movie Gallery gave our all, but it wasn't quite enough.
Regardless of how or what people are thinking, this was not a choice that any of us associates could have changed, this was a company decision.
Video rental businesses have been on a slow decline, so I hope that all of you help support the other two stores we have locally, as in these days it can happen to any business.
To my staff, Tammy, Diane, Mary and Skylar, I just want to say thanks. Thank you for your support and dedication, and it was a great pleasure working with all of you.
Remember, the positive things our customers used to say to us, and how they felt about our store.
Remember, you all did a job well done, and that you hold your head high because what we gained from this store closure was much more than the company could have given us. FRIENDSHIP.
Again, I personally would like to apologize to all the customers of Movie Gallery, and that we valued each and everyone of your business.
Alice Smith
