Car crashes at Striker's

Striker's corner was the site of another accident over the weekend. But in this incident, police say, no one was seriously injured.
The most recent accident occurred on Saturday evening, when a man in a Honda, driving north on Hot Springs Road lost control of his vehicle and skidded into the oncoming lane.
His vehicle broke a Telus telephone pole, but he was not injured at all in the crash, says Sgt. Mike McCarthy.
"He was very lucky, very fortunate," he says.
The man told police on scene that he was swerving to avoid a collision with an oncoming vehicle. No other vehicle was hit in the incident, nor did any other driver remain on scene.
"It is a problem corner," he says, and the area is "heavily signed, which identifies it as a curved roadway."
Whatever happened Saturday night, McCarthy says drivers need to heed those signs and remember it's a dangerous area to drive.
"If you go fast, it's gonna bit you," he says. "There's a potential you could go off the road for sure (when speeding)."
McCarthy added that the typical peak in vehicle and crime incidents is starting to ebb off now, following tourist season.
"This was a very quiet weekend," he says. "It slows down and we're starting to experience that now."
