Arrests made this week
A 40-year-old man is facing charges after police discovered a marijuana grow operation in the 10400 block of Caryks Road in Rosedale. Police say the operation, located in a detached garage on the property, contained over 1,000 marijuana plants.
One male suspect was arrested and charges are being considered for production of a controlled substance, possession for the purpose of trafficking, and theft of hydro.
And a prolific offender was arrested on Friday, July 24. RCMP received a call from a witness who believed two unknown people were stealing a truck from the neighbour's yard. The truck, a Ford F-150, was last seen headed towards McGrath Road. Chilliwack and Agassiz attended to the call and the truck was located parked and abandoned in the 52700 block of Bunker Road.
As the officer who located the truck approached the vehicle a female fled the area on foot ignoring commands of the police officer to stop. A foot pursuit through several backyards, and over several fences followed until the female finally stopped for the officer and was placed under arrested.
At approximately 2:40 a.m. RCMP Police Dog Services attended the scene and located a track for the second suspect believed involved in this incident. The male suspect was located after a short track and was arrested without incident.
The male suspect, age 28 of Chilliwack, is known to the Chilliwack RCMP and has been held in custody to appear today to face charges of Theft Over $5000. The female suspect, age 23 of Chilliwack, was released on a Promise to Appear in court on September 8th, 2009.
