Public liquor consumption rises with temperature

As the summer heats up, so does the number of liquor complaints to the RCMP.
Over the last week, July 9 to 15, there were several people caught drinking liquor in public, on Pioneer Ave., on the Agassiz-Rosedale bridge, on Esplanade and a minor in possession of alcohol on Esplanade.
RCMP enforced the liquor act on McDonald Road, and there were also two incidences of intoxication in a public place, on Pioneer and Morrow Roads in Agassiz.
Police caught three impaired drivers at Hot Springs Road and Highway 7, and handed out roadside prohibitions on the Agassiz Rosedale bridge and on East Harrison Forest Service Road. Someone on the same road was also charged with dangerous driving.
There were two assaults in the area during the week, one on Hwy. 9 in Agassiz and one on Bridal Falls Road.
There was a breach of peace on Seabird Island, Chehalis Reserve and on Highway 9 in Agassiz, as well as a breach of probation on the Chehalis Reserve.
There were disturbance calls on Beaman Drive, Morrow and Logan Road in Agassiz, on Seabird Island Reserve, on Long Island and on Esplanade Avenue in Harrison.
There were two charges of possession of stolen property, on Bridge Road in Kent and in Popkum.
A stolen vehicle was recovered on West Harrison Forest Service Road and a stolen motorcycle and plates were recovered in Popkum.
There was a theft from a vehicle at Bridal Falls, theft under $5000 on Lillooet Avenue in Harrison Hot Springs and theft under $5000 on Pinewood Avenue in Agassiz.
There were charges of mischief under $5000 after an incident on Evergreen Drive and Morrow Road in Agassiz, and another charge of mischief under $5000 on Chehalis Reserve.
RCMP dealt with two collisions on Mount Woodside and on Highway 9.
A missing person was reported on Rockwell Drive near Harrison Hot Springs and there were two calls dealing with the Mental Health Act in Harrison Hot Springs.
RCMP offered assistance to someone at the Agassiz-Rosedale bridge and assisted Emergency Health Services on Mount Woodside.
There were false alarms on Rockwell Drive near Harrison Hot Springs, on Pioneer Avenue and McKay Crescent in Agassiz, and abandoned or false 911 calls on Seabird Island Reserve, Hemlock Valley and on Rockwell Drive.
