Education made easier for adults

Going back to school may be a hard choice to make, but it may be a little easier to do than some would think.
"It seems there are still many adults in the community who don’t realize what is available to them," says Sandy Balascak, principal of the Agassiz Centre for Education.
"They usually qualify for government funded courses if they haven’t graduated or if they are upgrading to go on to further education."
She says adults should also know that they can also take the materials and work from home. They also don't need to attend full-time.
Balascak hopes to appeal to more adults in the area to come in and see how returning to school could fit into their lives.
Once someone completes Grade 12, it opens doors to employment and even further educational paths, if he or she so chooses.
"It is sad how many people still don’t know this and are not finishing their Grade 12 because they think it will cost too much or they think they have to attend every day and can’t because they work," she says.
