The Terry Fox Run was a tremendous success this past weekend in Harrison, raising $1600 for the Terry Fox Foundation.

Sixty people showed up to run on Sunday, September 13 at the newly-built Harrison Plaza, including two 10-year-old girls who were very keen to participate.

"They accomplished their goal and were so proud as we were all of them," says Beverly Coles, the local run organizer. "The simplicity of two young girls wanting to participate mirrored Terry's dream that we all as individuals could make a difference in finding a cure for cancer."

If you've missed the run, or still want to support a runner, there is still time.

The Terry Fox School Run day is September 25 this year.

Schools around the district will be participating, and Kent Elementary has Terry's brother, Daryl Fox, as a special guest speaker to inspire the students before their run.

Coles says there are still a few t-shirts left to purchase, too. They are $20 each.

Anyone interested can phone Beverly at 604-796-9793.
